I would not recommend anyone with serious talent spend their time interviewing with Primer. They were unprofessional, uncoordinated, and lost their main head of recruiting in the middle of the process. They will waste your time. I'm fortunate to have had interviews during non working hours and requiring no time off, but other's may encounter much worse.
It seems strange that their C levels and VPs have the time to interview a candidate that they do not want to hire. Additionally, in the middle of interviewing the company seemed to change their decisions and criteria for the position. The recruiter mentioned that this position was going to be remote, some team members mentioned the position would be remote, and then out of nowhere it was mentioned the position was primarily going to be on-site. This kind of inconsistency reflects on the internal management if they cannot align on one thing.
The initial conversation was with a recruiter. Following that was a 45 minute interview with an actual team member. After that was a panel interview with different leadership members and then multiple rounds with C levels.
At no point during the interview was any actual technical aptitude tested, which seemed strange. During the panel interview, some of the interviewers seemed to be under the impression that a technical assessment of some sort had been done. Some of the interviews with team members seemed to hint at potential dysfunction within the way the company operated.
It seems clear from the disconnect between the middle management and C levels as well as the complete re-organization internally that the company has managerial issues that may or may not get resolved for them to be better aligned.
