      I interviewed at PowerSchool Group

      Interview

This has undoubtedly been one of the most disappointing interview experiences I've ever encountered. From the outset, the process was riddled with missteps and oversights that left me feeling frustrated and undervalued. Upon receiving an email from the recruiter, I encountered a broken Calendly link, adding unnecessary complications to scheduling. Despite eventually booking a meeting, the actual interview time came and went without any communication from the recruiter. It was only later that I discovered it was a holiday in the U.S., where I'm based in Asia. While I can understand the occasional oversight, the lack of foresight in blocking out personal time on her calendar was disappointing. After rescheduling for the following day and receiving no response, I faced another no-show. Days later, the recruiter finally responded, attributing the oversight to a technical error and providing a new Calendly link. However, the available time slots were impractical for my time zone, with the only options falling in the early hours of the morning. Despite my efforts to accommodate, the recruiter was unable to find a suitable time, forcing me to agree to an interview at 2 a.m. local time. Preparing for the interview in the early hours of the morning, I received an email just minutes before from the recruiter stating that they couldn't proceed because they were only considering candidates based in the U.S. This disregard for my stated preference to work remotely from Asia, as clearly outlined in my cover letter and subsequent communications, was deeply frustrating. Throughout this entire process, what struck me most was the lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the recruiter. Not once did they offer an apology for the multiple oversights and inconveniences caused. Even in the final cancellation email, there was no acknowledgment of the impact their actions had on my time and efforts. Despite these challenges, my research on PowerSchool reaffirmed my belief in the organization's reputable and forward-thinking mission within the educational sector. However, it's disheartening to think that the actions of one individual could tarnish the reputation of such a respected company. To PowerSchool, I implore you to take heed of this feedback: One employee should not be allowed to undermine your hard-earned reputation. Establishing a standardized recruitment process and fostering a culture of thoughtfulness and accountability are essential steps in maintaining your integrity. Please continue your commendable work in the educational sector, but ensure that all facets of your organization uphold the same level of excellence. Thank you for considering my feedback.
