First round was a call with the CEO, Second was with the Sales Manager in person. The first call with the CEO was informal and very much him "selling" the job, using phrases like "this is an amazing opportunity" and "this market is going to blow up". The second round was explained by the CEO as a relatively informal sit down with the sales manager, but not explained that he would be the boss and it was a formal interview. Regardless, all meetings should be treated as interviews. After being extremely flexible with them and scheduling last minute to haul downtown to meet with him, spending over an hour talking, there was zero reply from Popmenu. None. No reply to my follow-up message, no thanking me for my time, nothing. Complete ghosting. This is extremely immature and shows a start-up that uses the excuse of being a start-up to treat people poorly. An intelligent and experienced company would follow-up with concrete feedback and have the long-range vision to maintain a good impression from the candidate, because one never knows who someone knows or could refer later. I was more than ready to be an ambassador of the brand, the product aligned with my values, and I was ready to start quickly. If they had handled follow-up better (or at all), I would have spread the word about their product, as I personally know so many potential customers, but that ship has sailed.
