Recruiter was prompt with scheduling my interviews with the team, though having 7 back to back 1-1 virtual calls for a Sr. Manager position seems a bit excessive.
Third call of the 7, I waited 45 minutes for the person to show up and then the person after that never showed up. When I reached out to the recruiter to follow up and get an updated schedule she sent me the same exact schedule I had, not answering my question about the missing interviewer. When I followed up again, she told me they needed to reschedule the rest of the calls.
I gave up at that point, why drag out more rescheduling of calls and not getting a reply??
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Pliant Therapeutics
Interview
Lead recruitment reneged on offer at the very end by lowering salary and benefits. Very aggressive tactics to lower candidate value/esteem so they don't negotiate. Screams on the phone, "Non-negotiable!" a lot over the smallest requests. Degrading and disrespectful towards women.
I applied online. I interviewed at Pliant Therapeutics
Interview
I agree with other interviewees about the dishonesty, unprofessionalism, and lack of organization from recruitment. I was bullied and at times threatened. I think he may have been trying to get rid of me as a candidate and when I was chosen for the position, he tried to make sure I had lower salary and made the start date as inconvenient as possible. In my first interview I had with the recruitment, my phone filtered his calls as spam. Finally he reached me and literally started YELLING at me asking if I wanted the job or not. He kept telling me to take other jobs. After I interviewed with the research team I thought things went well. However, there was no contact from anyone in the company for many months after the interview even though I would try to call. Finally, I emailed the recruitment and cc’d another HR, and he finally replied asking if he could call which he did saying the research team is still interested in moving forward. But he reminded me to take other job offers if they were available because the process is slow. Then I didn’t hear back for weeks and my email was ignored along with a phone call. I emailed the next month asking about the status and mentioned it had been more than a month since I heard back and I finally got a call from recruitment asking if I could start the next month. I said yes contingent upon a firm offer. However, he would consistently not reply for long periods of time (weeks to move a month) and then ask if I could start soon which wouldn’t give me enough time to transition between jobs. All of a sudden he was calling/texting/emailing multiple times a day and pushing me to start sooner than when I was ready. He would get me to agree to a start date promising an offer would come, then it wouldn’t come and he would try to stick to the original start date. He kept asking “do I want this job or not” or saying “changes to the start date would delay the process.” Finally, communicating with him was too overwhelming and took me away from my work. In an email response, I cc’d other people in the recruitment team saying to just have him or his associates email me because I’m onsite at my current job. Finally, a written offer came on that same day from another person on the HR which was more polite and professional.
