I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pinterest (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
The entire process took 3 weeks. I applied for the internship, and 2 days later I was scheduled for my first behavioral and technical screening. After the interview I was told I was better suited for the apprenticeship program - I was then scheduled for two technical interviews (remotely, on different days), followed by a final in-person interview at their gorgeous offices in SF. The in-person interview consisted of 3 interviews: 2 technical, 1 behavioral.
The entire process was managed so flawlessly. The staff was super nice and friendly. They made me feel very comfortable during the interview. I usually get nervous but this wasn't the case with Pinterest.
I have to say interviewing here was so far THE best interview process I've been through. The staff was phenomenal - a really cool and smart bunch of people.
I even got a goodie bag to take home with lots of amazing swag: cups, notepads, stickers, pens, credit card holders, reusable shopping bag, etc.
Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and other major tech employers have SO much to learn from Pinterest.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you go about creating a responsive grid for Pinterest? Look at this page element, now tell me what are all of the reusable components (CSS)? If someone tells you I want X made, what questions would you ask them?
