I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Pinterest (Sydney) in Mar 2021
Interview
I had a call with the recruiter in December 2020 to discuss job openings in Australia in line with their hiring surge. A video call was then set up with a Partner Manager in the US where to see if I was suitable for this role. After this, I was asked to respond to a task (analysing campaign results) and share my findings, learnings and recommendations via a presentation which I had a week to do. This response was presented within a final round interview that was 2 hours long during work hours, consisting of four separate interviews back to back with four different internal stakeholders (Aus and US based). There was no break in between and limited time to rest and prepare for your next interview.
After weekly follow ups, a month after the final round interview I was informed that they were no longer proceeding with my candidacy at this time "as the team is looking for exposure to the wider aspects of the digital marketing industry". This was never communicated throughout the interview process, as after the final round interview I was informed they were happy with my performance and suitability for the role, and were finalising budgets on their end indicating that this was an informal 'yes'. They also said they were hiring for more roles at an AM level (more than anticipated). This was short lived and I received the final update stating they don't have additional headcount. This is a complete backtrack to all updates received prior, as well as Pinterest claiming that they are on a hiring surge in Australia and looking at expanding rapidly due to exponential growth in 2020 (publicised in the media). On LinkedIn, they are still actively hiring for AM roles.
The final update was unexpected and disappointing given the effort required throughout the interview process, particularly as it took one month to receive a yes/no answer and four months in total for the entire interview process. Leading up to this outcome, all communications were promising, no uncertainties were implied and their hiring surge was continuously reinforced.

Recruiter screen went very quickly, so quickly I could not tell whether I did well or not. She didnt ask any follow up questions, so I couldnt tell how she was assessing me or not either.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Pinterest (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
final round was very challenging - 6 people on call that were drilling in terms of challenging client questions. Up to then the other rounds were good. Ended up not getting the offer.

the first rounds including case study were smooth, however it took me very long for them to do the final decision, almost one month.
