I was interviewed by three employees at Pearson Lanka. They asked me following questions: 1. Give a self introduction. 2. What is Validation and Verification? 3. What are test types? Give examples. 4. What is test automation? Mention some test automation tools. 5. Which category does test automation fall into? - answer : functional test types. 6. Explain the projects/researches that you have done. 7. What is a test case and what are the attributes of a test case? 8. How do you report bugs to a developer? — answer : in a bug-sheet. 9. What are the fields of a bug-sheet? 10. What would you do if a developer has rejected your bug and said “this is not a bug”. What will be your proof or evidence to prove that it’s really a bug? — answer: I will show the requirement specification to the developer. 11. They drew a star tree triangle on the board and asked me to write the code to generate it. 12. They asked me two Analytical questions : i) You are going to see your girlfriend in you car at night. When you get there, you meet an old good friend who needs to go to the town and another sick person who needs to go to the hospital. Your car has only one seat what would you do? (Clue : one passenger seat and a driver’s seat. Which means there are two seats) Answer : I'll give the car to my friend and ask him to drop the patient from the hospital and go to his destination. Meanwhile I'll stay with my girlfriend. ii) A windowless room contains three identical light fixtures, each containing an identical light bulb or light globe. Each light is connected to one of three switches outside of the room. Each bulb is switched off at present. You are outside the room, and the door is closed. Before opening the door you may play around with the light switches as many times as you like. But once you've opened the door, you may no longer touch a switch. After this, you go into the room and examine the lights. How can you tell which switch goes to which light? Answer : • Switch on switches 1 & 2, wait a moment and switch off number 2. • Enter the room. Whichever bulb is on is wired to switch 1, whichever is off and hot is wired to switch number 2, and the third is wired to switch 3.
