      Customer Experience Representative Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Payline Data

      Interview

I had a phone interview which was about 30 minutes. Answered hypothetical, scenario questions. He explained the position, benefits, pay rate ($18/hr). Afterwards, I received an email to complete an assessment which consisted of 6 scenario questions (how would you respond to this complaint or concern from a customer, how would you handle this situation, etc.). I completed the assessment successfully and was asked to come in for an interview. I interviewed with the customer service department manager and a woman. The interview went great. They seemed pleased with my answers. It felt more like a conversation with friends than an interview, which is great. After about 40 minutes, I thought the interview was finished but they said I'd be interviewing with two more people also. I was fine with that but I wish it was communicated with me prior to starting the interview. It was warm inside this small room. My interview was at 3. I showed up at about 2:45. After interviewing with 4 people, I didn't leave until 4:40. I interviewed with a level 2 (phone support) and level 3 (business support) customer service rep. The level 2 csr had only been employed with the company less than a year! This part of the interview was awkward. The level 2 csr was unfriendly and uninterested. Whenever it was her turn to ask a question, she was in a daze! She literally said 'oh I forgot what was going on'. I knew I wasn't getting the job at that point. It was so rude and disappointing. Basically, the customer service reps were given the opportunity to interview me so they could determine whether they wanted me working on their team or not. Once I realized that, I gave up trying. Needless to say, I didn't get the job. Because this is a start up company, the company culture is very young and more geared towards millennials. There's lots of room for growth.
