Worst experience ever and I have over 10 years of experience. I applied for the Director of Engineering job via glassdoor in Dec 2016.
In Jan 2017 I received a call from HR where they tried to convince me that I don't have enough experience to be a director and I should consider the team lead position instead. I found this really unprofessional because I had 5 years of more experience than the job requirement and also their previous CTO had 5 years less experience than me...
In any case, after a week I was scheduled for a technical phone interview with one of the team leads, that interview went well and the developer seemed friendly, he didn't really ask any technical questions, most of the questions were about my past experience and how I like to manage teams etc. He sounded really impressed and told me that the recruiter will reach out to me with the next steps i.e. in office interview.
I never heard back from the recruiter.
