I applied online. I interviewed at Paintgun in Mar 2026
Interview
Interview 1: Had one interview with HR, lovely lady, feedback was that I was a good fit. Some important questions I had about the role I was told to consult with the next interviewer in line. Interview 2: (two weeks later) The next interviewer in line I think was the owner, didn’t know what the position they were hiring for would look like, didn’t have the answers to the questions I had, didn’t seem to know what he was hiring for, kept asking me the same question. The job description said full time, interview 1 said 2-3 days a week but fewer hours for first three months, didn’t know how many hours. Second interview said it’s only adhoc work but didn’t know how many hours or days per week. The process was unprofessional and a waste of my time.

Question 1
What my process and strategy was. (So they don’t have a job position already in place with the processes in motion, ie: how I communicate with editors, etc)
Received an interview quickly after replying. Interviewer was nice and friendly. The interview went well. Then a received an email saying they decided to go with someone else. I saw the next day that they had re-posted the job advertisement. I emailed to ask for feedback on my interview so I could improve, as they lied about choosing another candidate. They ghosted me. I met all the requirements for this role. I'm guessing I didn't get a second interview because of the salary I asked for, which is okay but at least be transparent about it. I think it's pretty inconsiderate when companies ghost you and don't offer any feedback after people have gone to the effort of writing an application and preparing for an interview. Do better.
