During my interview process, I was asked about my age multiple times, which felt inappropriate and unrelated to my qualifications. Despite having direct experience building the exact niche system required — across two previous companies — my expertise was repeatedly downplayed in a way that seemed tied to assumptions about my age.
The overall interview experience was also disappointing. There was a noticeable lack of engagement from the interviewers: people checking their phones, multiple people leaving midway through, and little attention paid to the 15-slide presentation I had prepared on software architecture. Instead, the discussion seemed overly focused on documentation and compliance, without fully considering the practical experience I was presenting.
This gave the impression that my time and effort were not respected, and that I was not being taken seriously as a candidate. The tone throughout felt dismissive and, at times, condescending.
Unfortunately, the experience left a negative impression, and I would encourage the company to reflect on how they conduct interviews and engage with candidates more respectfully.
Do not bother applying here unless you are over 40.
