There was three interviews and two exams. I pretty much met the team. They were kind but serious. Technnical questions were not difficult, but the exercise was. It was all done within the company, no external third parties.

Leopards never change their spots right? Five years ago Optix approached me, then said no. No reason. Then they did it again, why approach someone, then say no. What a complete joke and a waste of my time. Never, ever again.

Question 1
It was a general chat, I was told they'd love me for the role, again, and again changed their mind. Total joke, I assume HR need some box ticking for numbers?

Interview
2 stage interview.
Stage 1 - An informal "get to know you" stage. Including a discussion about the business and why they're hiring.
If they wish to proceed they give you a tech test to do at home in your own leisure. This takes a lot of the pressure off.
The tech test is to manipulate some provided data and output via API. You can go as in depth as you want.
Stage 2 - Review the code you submitted. I enjoyed this discussion and it felt like I was able to talk about my code decisions without judgement. Even though I had significant missing skills they could see I was keen and able to learn so you don't need to know everything before applying.
