I applied online. I interviewed at Optiver (Sydney) in Feb 2026
Interview
Really tough OA, seems like they've changed from last year, no more 80 in 8 and now only 4 games in Zap'n Test, so easier than before but definitely harder than typical quant internship OA. followed by a vague behavioural and then failed. Guess I wasn't what they were looking for. I've heard the technicals are pretty hard too.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
For the behavioral they asked about one time I sought feedback for something and how I used it
First there was a long OA of about 3hours. Then, there was a zoom interview on the card betting game with the recruiter. I didn't make it to the next round.
Very smooth, the HR just asked me why Optiver, why quant, what is your strength and weakness, what is the career plan in the next 5 years, but I did not answer very perfect
first round of math probability
2nd of betting. the platform was bit hard to use. Recommend to get some training if you can find the resources. both interviewers were nice
