      Data Engineer Interview

      23 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at One Medical (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Recruiter contacted me for the position. After 30 minute screening we moved forward to the phone interview with another data engineer. I asked him to send me his contact information after the interview but it didn't happen. Then I contacted the recruiter for the contact info but no response until a few days later when I got notified than they are not moving forward with my candidacy and provided no reasons. The hiring manager did not respond to my thank you email. Overall the team seems to be new and not professional in hiring and not respectful to the candidate. I saw many red flags and would not recommend it overall.

      Data Engineer Interview

      22 Dec 2018
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at One Medical (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2018

      Interview

The interview process was straight-forward, relatively quick, and very enjoyable. There were 4 stages: recruiter screen, an interview with the hiring manager, a technical phone screen/coding challenge, and the onsite (which had both behavioral and technical components to it). I applied online, got reached out to a few days later. It took about a month beginning to end. A highlight is that the recruiter was very responsive and the process was very streamlined.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at One Medical (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

I had a first interview with the hiring manager about core hadoop & spark (MLlib & streaming) that led to the paired coding interview as the next step. On Coderpad I was given the choice to opt the runtime environment and I did Java as I had done for all my interviews. The interviewer called 5 mins late and I had another 40 mins for coding itself. He said this question has multiple parts and you get past one part to the next one upon its correct test case pass. I thus took the time to explain my approach to him during and after each part. By the end of the time I got to finish three parts correctly. I still remember him saying "you did well - good luck with the next round!" But a few days later the recruiter calls me to discuss the feedback. And I was utterly shocked by that. The interviewer had fed back that the question had 6 parts and I completed only 3 parts. So in his view I was not a fit! At that moment it was even hard to explain my view or ask why if there were a total of 6 parts, it wasn't stated at anytime during the interview. But overall I felt lack of attention and decision making with this interview.
