I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Omni:us in Sept 2021
Interview
I interviewed for this job in late 2021. I want to leave a review because I interviewed with several companies during this time and the process at Omnius really stood out in a good way. I first spoke with the recruiter (Ellie) and she took a lot of time to understand my values and what I'm looking for in the next step in my career. I felt I could trust that she had my best interests in mind. She also shared important information about the role and I was very happy to explore things further. Next I spoke with the manager and the way the recruiter described her was very accurate. I could tell that she is someone I'd have worked well with. The next call was with two engineers who tested me on different knowledge and coding skills. I must highlight this was the best part of the interviews for me. I wish more companies structured their coding interviews in this way. I learned so much about the technical setup there where many companies just send a coding test that doesn't relate to the company at all. And I got to see the way the team works together. The recruiter gave me good feedback at every step and helped me feel prepared for the interviews. I always knew what to expect going in without giving to much a way.
In the end I decided to accept an offer with a company based in my home city because working with Omnius would have been mostly remote (I don't live in the HQ city of Berlin). If it wasn't for the location I would have picked them.

Question 1
Mostly it is a mix of situation questions and sharing examples from my past projects. Asked a lot about what I want and don't want to make sure it was a good match (did not make ,empty promises' or oversell).
