      Software Engineer Interview

      21 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Zürich
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at OPTIML (Zürich) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The interview process is fairly structured and includes four stages, with two technical interviews. While it is somewhat lengthy, the team is responsive and efficient when it comes to scheduling and communication. I applied for a role that only partially overlapped with my current experience, which made some parts of the process more challenging for me. The interviews placed a strong emphasis on technical knowledge and tooling and included two small traditional software engineering coding challenges. Interpersonally, the second interview felt relatively transactional. There was less focus on prior experience, real-world problem-solving approach, or growth potential, which surprised me given the context. The interview style was similar to that of larger tech companies. I appreciated the prompt feedback after the interview.
