      Sales Engineer Interview

      21 Feb 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Montreal, QC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Novisto (Montreal, QC) in Feb 2025

      Interview

      1) HR/Recruiter (Virtual) Length of 30-40 minutes 2) SE Team (Virtual) length of 1 hour - scheduled 1 week after first interview 3) VP Sales (In person social setting) Length of 1-2 hours - scheduled 4 days following the second interview 4) Account Executive (Virtual) Length of 1 hour - scheduled 3 days following the 3rd interview 5) CEO (Virtual) Length of 40 minutes - scheduled 1 week after the 4th interview 6) HR (virtual) scheduled 9 days after the CEO interview - asked me to travel to Montreal to do a demo. 7) Withdrew from the gauntlet for obvious reasons Edit - In response to Novisto team: To be clear the length of the process would have been reasonable had it been communicated properly. I didn't make it clear in the review but I withdrew as I was told a final decision was made in the email leading up to the last call with HR, but instead I was requested to travel to a different city (remote job posting) for a presentation with no guarantees. This request was made with the clear knowledge I had existing employment. This was more than a process issue.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1) HR/Recruiter (Virtual) - Background, why I want to work for them, salary expectations 2) SE Team (Virtual) 1 hour - Background, why I want to work for them, why I'm looking to leave my current employer, how I would approach a number of SE scenarios including if I've experienced issues dealing with AE's and how I approached that etc. 3) VP Sales (In person social setting) Primarily about me, how I deal with scenarios, personal life questions, impromptu demo asking me to teach them something. 4) Account Executive (Virtual) - Most concise interview, asked me questions on how I handle scenarios, but also gave me a good understanding of what I would be doing in the role and how they felt a successful candidate would work. Asked for a demo which I provided. 5) CEO (Virtual) Asked me alot of questions about my current role, likely trying to gauge how quickly I could ramp up in their environment, questions on preferences for types of work within the role etc.
