Difficult interview
Application
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Novateur Research Solutions
Interview
Was asked to take a coding test before talking to anyone, and then the first interview is with the CEO. He asked nitty-gritty trivia-level algorithms questions and was rude and condescending when I didn't immediately know the answer. I clearly wasn't moving on, but he mentioned the next step would be another coding interview with the CTO because they can't trust that candidates don't cheat in the first exam. Not clear why they waste applicants time with it then.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If I give you an array of integers and guarantee that 50%+1 are the same integer, how can you figure out what that number is in O(1) space?
First round assessment involving both coding and ML case studies, followed by a meeting with president and other team members. 3 coding questions which I did in Python. The case studies involved questions like which metric would you choose, design the system etc.

Question 1
Prime number based on some constraints and some ML situations.

Interview
First round of interview had 3 coding questions followed by 2 ML case studies. It was take-home with a time limit of 3hrs. Depending upon the performance in the first round, they will schedule a other rounds with the president.

Question 1
2 of the coding questions where regarding prime numbers and other required connecting an array of numbers with a graph in a non-trivial way and applying graph algorithms. All coding questions were rated hard by Geeksforgeeks portal. In my opinion, the coding questions were more tailored to SDE type roles rather than to people whose focus is on ML research. They were harder than the coding questions I have encountered in Google or AWS for research positions.
