I applied online for a women's shoes position, a couple of hours later I got en e-mail back saying that they wanted to schedule a phone interview with me. I had the phone interview the next day and she asked me questions like what is my definition of customer service. It lasted about five minutes and afterwards she said she wanted to set up a one on one interview with the hr manager. I went in for that about a month later because I was interviewing for a job where I go to college and I was on winter break back home. Finally, I had my interview with the hr manager she was pretty friendly. She explained what commission sales were and what Nordstrom was all about. After the interview she said she would make my application available to the department managers and if they were interested they would call. I didn't get a call after a week, so I sent an e0mail to the hr manager because she said I should stay in contact with her. A few days later I got a call from the handbags department manager and that same day I went in for an interview with him. He was super nice and friendly. However, he passed on giving me the job, but he gave my application to the women's active manager. Later on in the week, I interviewed with her and immediately afterwards she gave me the job! The interview process was pretty lengthy and stressful, but definitely worth it!
