I filled out the application on a wednesday, and received a call back that friday. Went in for the interview on a tuesday. The interview was at a very nice hotel, and the Trainer was easy to talk to BUT she was very serious about what you knew about the business. Review those videos, and be informed about what Nielsen is! The employees love their job, and they look to hire people who will love it as much as they do.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is Nielsen? What do Nielsen Sales Representatives do? What sale tactics do you use in odd situations?
Interview process began mid-2021. After initial recruiter phone interview, and after waiting over 3 weeks for a response, I moved on to video interview with the same recruiter. Then moved on to a video interview with who would be a regional manager. Then moved onto a triple-box video interview with same manager, and two other various-role managers. Many good questions asked - but also many questions related to a certain topic-du-jour asked as well. Though excessive and mostly empirically unrelated to the job qualifications, I answered all cheerfully and thoughtfully, I felt. Without elaborating heavily, my recent prior experience/qualifications were perfect for this job and the responsibilities it entailed. After 4 total interviews, preparation, and hours spent, Nielsen didn't even go to the trouble of contacting me at all afterwards. No polite decline. No nothing. Yet after the line of questioning and study of website company information, it didn't surprise me at all, as the result was transparent. Let's just say that I didn't look like who they wanted. But no response. And no class.

Some general background questions, and some "Star" type questions.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nielsen (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2020
Interview
It was a quick phone interview that lasted about 20 mins. Generally get to know you and a bit about the job. After the phone interview, I was invited to go in for an in-person interview.
Got first contacted for a quick phone interview of 30mins.
Then 3 days later, I was asked to come for the 1st stage of the formal interview:
- 1 hour face-to-face interview with the HR manager.
- 2-hour analytical test with exercise on Excel (pivot table)
The test has a very hands-on approach, with real-life problems (probability, ROI, case studies, write email...) so it's very interesting.
