      Director Interview

      16 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Neurocrine Biosciences (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2025

      Interview

Really enjoyed meeting the entire team. Had many interviews, virtual and on-site and then was completely ghosted. I heard so much about how important their culture was, but no one could quite describe it. And if you couldn't prove in a series of 1:1s i(n which many had never even taken a look at your resume before entering the room) whether you fit into their culture (clique) then you weren't hired.

      Director Interview

      11 Sept 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Neurocrine Biosciences

      Interview

A now-Vice President of the company agreed to discuss a job opening with me. I was referred to him by a mutual colleague, although I had met the Vice President a few times and even had lunch with him previously. We messaged back and forth a number of times (he was not always responsive). We finally scheduled a time for a phone call. He never called me at our appointed time and date as he was supposed to. Initially, I messaged him to see if everything was okay and did not hear back. I later messaged him again to reschedule our call. No response. Extremely unprofessional and a self-centered, inconsiderate act. I spent days learning everything I could about the company and its products in order to be prepared for the interview. My time meant nothing to him. Amazingly, he was an Executive Director at the time and has since been promoted to Vice President. If I were Neurocrine, I would be seriously disturbed by this behavior. In our line of work, relationships and networking are crucial. Carelessly disregarding and hurting someone is not smart and runs counter to his professional duties, as the person he offended could end up in a position of influence and decision-making over his department at Neurocrine. But overall, it was just the wrong thing for this man to do and that means nothing to him.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were no questions because the hiring manager, in this case someone in a leadership position at the company, never showed up for the interview.
