I recently interviewed for a remote job where I went through two interview rounds within two days. The interviewers, based in Spain, lacked DevOps knowledge or experience. During the process, I was given a programming task, which I completed successfully. They also asked basic questions about DevOps, security, and Kubernetes architecture, all of which I answered confidently. However, after two weeks of follow-up, the HR team informed me that my profile wasn't shortlisted because they were 'expecting stronger technical answers.' This feedback was confusing and disappointing, as it’s unclear how someone without expertise in the DevOps domain could accurately assess technical performance.
