Standard interview. The engineering staff I met with were clearly talented and knew their technical stack well.
The office environment was mid and it got uncomfortable sometimes. There was a dog who kept getting sprayed for simply wandering through the workspace. This felt unnecessary and definitely didn't help because it created a tense atmosphere, especially since the pet appeared to be a permanent fixture in the office. When I asked my contact directly about work-life balance, they confirmed it is essentially non-existent. I observed several employees who appeared to have been working through the night (multiple days in the same clothes) due to production incidents. Leadership explicitly mentioned expecting staff to work overnight because they are "young."
TL;DR: Volatile management style, extreme lack of work-life balance, and poor office environment.
