The video interview was hirevue questions. There was around 5/6 questions and I was given unlimited attempts to re-record. It wasn't too bad or hard. I am yet to receive a response back
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at National Grid (Warwick, West Midlands, England) in Jan 2024
Interview
The interview process for the National Grid position consists of three distinct sections. Firstly, candidates engage in a group exercise involving four participants, where they collaborate to devise solutions related to the National Grid's commitments. This exercise evaluates candidates' abilities in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and their capacity to thrive under pressure. Following this, candidates undergo a strength-based interview comprising ten questions focused on personal attributes, along with two inquiries specific to the National Grid and the role at hand. This segment aims to assess candidates' resilience, adaptability, leadership potential, and their understanding of the organization's objectives.
The final phase entails a case study, where candidates are provided with 10-12 slides detailing information about the National Grid. They are given 30 minutes to analyze the material and prepare responses to a set of questions derived from the case study. Subsequently, candidates have 10 minutes to present their findings, testing their analytical skills, critical thinking, prioritization, and ability to articulate solutions succinctly. Overall, this interview process offers a comprehensive evaluation of candidates' teamwork, personal strengths, understanding of the organization, and their capacity to analyse and communicate complex information effectively within a time-constrained environment.
