After a 30 minute phone screening, I was invited in for a face-to-face. Was interviewed by a panel of four people. Atmosphere was jovial and relaxed and I felt comfortable talking with the panel. There was a brief skills test where I was asked to remove certain pieces of hardware from a desktop computer and put them back in within five minutes. Felt the process went extremely well. Followed up a few days later and was met with silence. Followed up again several weeks later to ask the status of the position and was told they were still interviewing. Several weeks passed again. Looked at the posting for the position online and saw it had been filled. Complete lack of communication in telling me I was not being considered further, or that the position had been filled. This is a trend I've seen for longer than a year and it's disrespectful. I expected better from an institution with the reputation NYU has.
