Process was mid-August to mid-November. I was a back burner boyfriend, a friend explained to me. No individual at the company is to blame. The first recruiter departed but didn't do a hand-off. Once I re-applied, I had three phone interviews and two onsite visits. Phone interviews were with recruiter, and analyst for SQL screening, and the department director.
The department director left the company shortly after our phone call, but the first onsite interview followed. The onsite included three very casual meetings, two with analysts, and one with an AI engineer. It's was unclear to me how much preparation was done by the interviewers.
Later, a second onsite was scheduled. It included two meetings, one with c-level and one with the same AI engineer from the first onsite. C-level gave google type scenarios, appropriate for Sr. Analyst position. Engineer proposed a technical challenge related to queues and double-linked lists, which could be expected by an engineering candidate, but not an analyst. To give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the challenge was aimed at understanding my interest, and capacity to learn.?? The AI engineer was a very good teacher and patiently taught me these concepts.
