Take home + 2 hour coding session with CTO. Be prepared for hackerrank type questions. 3 algo+ds questions of medium difficulty. Also made to implement some contrived modifications to take home
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mitre Media (Toronto, ON)
Interview
I arrived for my interview 15 minutes early. Upon arriving I informed the woman at the front that I was there for an interview. She said "Okay" stood up, and started walking to the back of the building. I asked if I should follow her or wait at the front to which she replied "Well I'm not the one here for an interview". Still unsure of what to do I followed her. She led me to a meeting room and offered me a drink.
The first person came in at the time my interview was scheduled for. We had a nice conversation about my experience and his. Questions were asked back and forth. Good conversation all around. Great guy. This might have been the only positive experience I had in the building.
First person told me the second person would be in next. We shook hands and he went about his business. I waited 20 minutes before anyone else showed up in the room.
Second person walked in next. Minutes after began talking about his experience and my own. A lot of random questions, but nothing specific to UX either. Repeated myself 3 or 4 times as he asked me the same questions over and over jumping from section to section on my resume and experience. Kind of gave off the impression that he does not know what he's doing in interviews / the hiring process.
I left the building feeling very odd about the entire situation. Upon leaving I knew that if they offered me a position I would decline. First person and I had a great conversation, but everything else just felt very... fake.

Question 1
Honestly all the questions were super generic and nothing you haven't heard anywhere else.

Interview
The interviewers were really friendly / down-to-earth. The interview consisted of a technical portion and a personality portion. The technical portion was problem solving, a few questions about the specific languages I stated I knew in my resume. The personality questions were geared towards making sure you're a good team player and a good fit. Overall, good experience, average difficulty. Seemed like a great place to work - declined offer because I had to choose between several. But Mitre was definitely on top of the list.
