The interviews themselves were ok, and pretty standard issue as far as what you find on the internet when searching for Facebook PM interviews - product sense & execution in round 1, the same + behavioral in round 2, with round 2 having more follow up questions than round 1.
The recruiter and post-interview experience, unfortunately, was abysmal. I've anecdotally seen people receive a decision within about a business week. I spent one month, following up with my recruiter multiple times with no response, only to be asked for additional work background information, with the promise of an interview "debrief". After providing requested info, recruiter disappeared for another week, only to come back with a generic rejection email. Follow up email requesting any detail around the circumstances of the decision was met with silence.
None of this would have felt so negative if I had received any one of the following:
- Any kind of generic response from my recruiter while I waited nervously for a full month, to assure me I was still under consideration
- No implication or promise of a "debrief", which could reasonably have been implied as being on track for an offer
- A response, even a "sorry, I can't provide more information", after getting the no
Main takeaway for me is - YMMV, big time, depending on the recruiter you get. Unfortunately, mine was either was too busy, didn't care, or has no clue how to manage candidate relationships.
