I applied online. I interviewed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY)
Interview
Phone interview within the first few days of applying, then face to face interviews with four people a week later. The interview was terrible, there was a disconnect between the recruiter, hiring managers and department head. Gave inconsistent information and didn't seem to know where this person was going to fit in their organization. The recruiter was pulling on the side of his face I think trying to stay awake while interviewing me and answering emails.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you like the most about your job and what do you like the least? In what situation did you take initiative on a project or something? A lot of process questions regarding my field.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY) in Apr 2018
Interview
Applied online and was invited for a phone screen. I was told via email that the call would last 30 minutes. The recruiter called promptly and proceeded to talk for close to 20 minutes - about the hospital, hospital management, the HR department, HR management, the HR team, and on and on. She gave way more granular information than was really necessary for this first round. She then asked a few short questions - why MSK, why I was looking for a new opportunity, what I like about HR, and what I don't like. That was it. By the end of the call I knew this wasn't going anywhere and not surprisingly I got an email a few days later thanking me for my time. I think I was just unlucky with the recruiter I talked to. I'd like to apply again and hopefully get a different recruiter who takes the time to learn about me and my background.
