I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medtronic (Northridge, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
I went through 2 interviews. One by phone and one in person on-site. I was told I was a top 5 candidates for the position I was applying for. I interviewed in person with the executive and then I heard nothing. I followed up with them and they told me someone internally had expressed an interest in the position. 30 days later I still had not heard back from them at all. Not in writing, nothing. If you go to a 1 on 1 interview they are required by law to inform you if you were selected or not. I received NOTHING. In fact, when I inquired 60 days later they still gave me some song and dance about an internal candidate. But yet the position was still being recruited for. Most bizarre. I was contacted by an internal recruiter for this position. I did not apply for it. I was amazed at the lack of professionalism by the Medtronic recruiters. If they cant even get the interview process down right, how can they be doing a good job at anything? All things happen for a reason. This is not the type of company I would want to work for. They seem to be flying by the seat of their pants. NO THANKS.

Give me an example of how you organized the last executive you worked for
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medtronic (London, England) in Aug 2025
Interview
Appalling. The interview process was chaotic. The first Teams interview was scheduled but cancelled last minute. The rescheduled interview was also cancelled last minute. The third interview was not cancelled, but guess what? No-one turned up. Anyway, I finally had an interview and was told that the whole process would take around 4 weeks as it involved being interviewed by the person who the role was supporting, HR and then someone else. Turns out they already had someone in mind as the following week my application was rejected as they found someone more suited to the role. Evidently they had already chosen someone so I don't understand why they said the process would take 4 weeks. Doesn't sound very professional does it?

Interview
it was virtual. smooth and friendly conversation.
covered the most important question to build an overview of the candidate. the communication prior to the interview was via phone calls. several emails followed the call to decide the interview appointment.

Question 1
about skills, background and experience in general
Interview process was longer than usually what I’ve experienced. It took around two months from date of my application. However, TA team and interviewers were nice throughout my encounters. Pretty disappointed with the outcome whereby it looked hopeful. Regardless, it’s an experience.
