I applied online. I went through two rounds of interviews. The initial call with HR was brief, not a very thorough interview. This was followed up with an interview by my prospective supervisor, followed by another Sponsoring Editor (now called Brand Managers) who would not be supervising me. MHE believes in having multiple people email candidates regardless of the job level. This Sponsoring Editor proceeded with telling me she looked me up on Facebook but that my page was private, and she respects that. She then asked how I applied. I was a bit confused by this question. I responded online, she then told me she didn't apply that way. She told me that her friend recommended her, and she did not have to formally apply nor interview (i'm assuming). I found that a bit crass and inappropriate.
Overall the interview questions were average and it seemed like a nice switch of work from trade publishing to Education. What I failed to ask about was career opportunities. I wish I did, cause they were pretty non existent.
