I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Maze (Stoke-on-Trent, England) in Nov 2021
Interview
WATCH OUT BEFORE APPLYING!!!! NO DIVERSITY
side note: (I am a non-white female)
PASSED The first stage was with their recruiter, who was the one who reached out to me. 30 mins call
PASSED The third stage was with their internal engineer, the tech test took 40mins.
PASSED The second stage was with a third party interviewing company called Karat. Tech test 1 hour.
FAILED??????? The last stage was with their CTO Thomas, apparently, this was supposed to be a cultural fit interview. HOWEVER, he asked me technical questions, and he claimed that I failed to answer something with their internal engineer interview, but that didn't happen (or I was never told), he also asked me a question from the Karat interview which was the first question of more than 10 and it was 1min question.
And the feedback that I got was that "I was not technically good". During the whole interview, he tried to prove me wrong about the things that I said about myself.
Why have they arranged the final interview if I was technically not good?
I checked their org chart, the Engineering team is all white male, and their recruiter told me that no one was asked technical questions on the final interview. Which brings a lot of questions!!!!!!!!!
Their recruiter insisted on not sending me the feedback as an email and she forced me to arrange another call for the feedback, which is I assume so that I cannot use this as proof.

Question 1
React exercise - he asked me to implement
Karat interview
Final stage - supposed to check if you are a cultural fit, but it is their CTO who I don't think has any education about company cultures nor EDI.
Thank you so much for your candor, and we appreciate you taking the time to honestly share your experience so that we may address and improve our processes. We're sorry for the frustrating experience, and our growing team is working hard to develop holistic interviewing flows. We are iterating, and your feedback is very much appreciated. I am more than willing to meet with you regarding your specific circumstances if you are open to it, please let your recruiter know and they can arrange a call. When people put their time and effort into our interview process our best practice is to give feedback face to face.
