The worst interview experience I’ve had to date. Three months, six interviews, an assignment and references contacted all to receive a generic rejection of “we are looking for someone with more experience”. I asked very standard questions such as what is the hiring timeline, what are next steps, and who is the hiring manager and was never given straightforward answers. Both myself and my references were rescheduled on more than once. I wish I had trusted my gut and recognized the red flags. I stuck with it because I was very much led to believe it would turn into an offer, but it turned out to be a waste of three months. Don’t make the same mistake I did! There are plenty of other job opportunities in travel at companies who treat you with respect.

What destinations do you have experience in? What is your favorite travel destination? What is your client volume and typical budget?
It was a pretty straightforward interview. They asked simple things like whether I knew Virtuoso, what hotels I’ve been to, and if I had experience working with DMCs. I applied and didn’t hear anything for about 2–3 months, and then out of the blue the recruiter reached out to set up an interview

Interview
Took around 3 months and interviews with 6 different employees to be ultimately told even though the position is fully remote they want someone close to a "Marchay hub". This was not mentioned in the job posting nor with any of the 5 interviewers I spoke with. Sounds like the owner made the ultimate call despite all previous interviews going really well. This should have been disclosed at the beginning of the interview process - not 3 months and 6 people later.
