I first applied online, like they requested, after I went in with a written résumé. I have every requirement, and then some, of what they wanted and expected of me. There was no reply after three days, so I went in with my written résumé and cover letter. It was impeccable. I was then told to come back the next Thursday (it was Tuesday), so I left the résumé with the manager on duty. I came back the next Thursday and met with the owner who said she would contact me the following week. I heard nothing all week. I returned and talked with the owner to clarify if they had hired someone, no, they hadn't. Did they plan on conducting any interviews soon? Yes, they would. They "will be in contact next week". I heard nothing. Well, I actually frequent the store, and I was told by one of the employees that they probably won't call because, they only hire if someone is incompetent, because they don't like to be "out shined". I had already resigned myself to not getting that job because I felt that their lack of business etiquette was horrible. No big deal. Then, the next day I was emailed for an interview. I thought, why not? And I went to the interview well dressed, another résumé in hand, terrific references, and a great attitude. It was awkward at best. They made it clear they didn't want me, not through a simple, no thank you, but through body language and (I kid you not) snorts, like a teenager in a bad mood.
