I applied online. I interviewed at Lyell Immunopharma
Interview
It was short and sweet - an interview with an in house recruiter and a hiring manager - very technical focused team who wanted someone with more technical experience for a general operations role

Interview
Straightforward, no surprises. Had a call with the hiring manager and then separate half-hour slots with other members of the team and various related teams. Everyone asked good questions. I was able to learn a lot about the company and their IT philosophy/strategy.

Question 1
How to do you keep up to date with current security trends?
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Lyell Immunopharma (Worcester, MA) in May 2024
Interview
Panel interview with a statistician and 2 programmers where programmers were hellbent on discarding what I said. Didn't understand the negativity but felt like programmers are insecure about their job and does not want me there overlooking their work. They did not even read job roles but asking me what are the roles I can do. I had many interviews over the time but this is one of the worst experiences I had. When the employer is not sure whether they need a new role in their firm they should not post job ads. I would not recommend an interview for this firm to anyone of my statistician friends as long as programmers have a role in statistician interview.
