Awful. There was hope in the beginning during the screening call when they were transparent about several layoffs. I took that as a good sign but I was very wrong about their level of transparency.
The process went from December 3 – January 23. Two out of my four total interviews happened in the final week. The last interview for January 24 was canceled because they wanted to be "mindful of my time". Even with the holidays and company offsite, the interview process was incredibly long and inefficient.
Scheduling these interviews gave me a headache. 15 minutes after a preparatory call, I provided open availability 8am - 5pm for two weeks and yet there was still a ton of back and forth to get these calls on the calendar.
I never heard back when the team said they would get back to me and it seemed like they were trying to buy time. I don't know what the purpose of a prep call was, because none of the people who interviewed me had specific questions to prepare.. it was just conversational and left me confused because I was under the impression that these calls were different.
So turns out this experience was far from transparent and super disappointing. In more than a year interviewing, this has to be one of the worst experiences yet.
