I applied online through their website. The application form was straightforward, requiring basic personal information, a resume, and a portfolio of my previous game design work. I received a confirmation email almost week after submitting my application.
I was contacted to schedule an initial interview. This was conducted with the Game Design Lead. This was held at their main office. The Game Design Lead was very knowledgeable and engaging. We discussed my portfolio in detail, with specific focus on design decisions and problem-solving processes I had used in past projects. This part of the interview felt more like a conversation rather than a typical Q&A session, which made it less intimidating and more enjoyable.
The second interview was an in-person meeting with the two CEOs of the company. They were very approachable and down-to-earth, making it easy to discuss my passion for game design and my career aspirations. We talked about the company's vision, their current projects, and how they see the role of a game designer evolving within their team. This discussion gave me a deeper insight into the company culture and their expectations for the role.
