I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Finglas) in Mar 2014
Interview
I had to wait more than an hour to be attended. At the beginning I was alone. But then there where two guys more. After start the interview I had to make a test. I thought it was gonna be easier. The first one was to check your calculation abilities. It wasn't so difficult but not easy. I had to use a paper to make the operations after answer every question. The problem for me were the linguistic questions. I think it was easier, but as I am spanish I couldn't understand all the words, so I couldn't answer properly.
After that I had to make an interview with the Store Manager and the Director Manager. Both looking at me. I was so intimidated. They asked me about my future plans. Why I would like to work in Lidl. To tell them what did I know about the company. Also they asked me if I had cleaning experience!!! (they don't have cleaners!!! the same staff clean all de supermarket!!) …And, as I have a bachellors degree, they asked me what will happen if I have a job to work in my speciality!!! I couldn't believe it!! Obviously, I would like to work in what I have been studying!!! But I feel that they want people working there for the whole live. So let them think that.
They offer 10 h/w at the beginning (who can survive with that???) After a few months (around 6 I guess…they can give you more hours, like 20 per week)….
I can't remember exactly the wages but it wasn't too bad (more than the minimum)
Note: They don't give you any discount to buy in Lidl...
videocolloquio con HR e figure di riferimento, divisa in 3 parti per poter valutare le competenze e attitudini in modo da vedere se idonei per il ruolo e l'ambiente lavorativo
The interview process was professional and well structured, with clear communication throughout. The interviewer explained the role, responsibilities, and expectations. Questions were relevant and focused. Overall, the discussion was respectful and informative, providing a clear understanding of the position and the company’s working environment.
Fairly straightforward interview. They only asked my five questions, around my personality in working environment and previous experience. I didn't have retail experience but worked in cafe which was similar enough.
