      Software Engineer Interview

      12 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Level Access (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2025

      Interview

The interviewer asked several fundamental JavaScript questions, all of which I answered correctly. Unfortunately, the openings were filled by other candidates, so I wasn’t able to move on to the next round. The interviewer was very friendly overall. It wasn’t a bad interview—I just lacked a bit of luck this time.

      Question 1

They asked me about the basic types in JavaScript & some multiple choice questions.

      Software Engineer Interview

      22 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Level Access in Sept 2025

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter. We scheduled a meeting, but 30 minutes before the call she canceled and asked me to reschedule. We eventually had the call, and everything seemed to go well. Since I’m not a native English speaker, they had me complete a 20-minute English test. After that, I was scheduled for a technical interview with two members of their engineering team. During the interview, they gave me a coding exercise that I had to solve while explaining my reasoning. I managed to solve it and clearly explained my solutions, including concepts like time and space complexity, data structures, validations, and even some system design concepts. I thought it went well. A week later, I reached out to ask if we were moving forward with the next steps. Three days after that, I received a generic rejection email. I thanked them for the update and asked for feedback, but they never replied. Every email I received had this disclaimer: “Additionally, as we continue to provide a transparent recruitment process, we kindly request that you keep us informed about any other job offers you may be considering or specific timelines you are working with. This information will help us better understand your availability and expectations, allowing us to make informed decisions throughout the hiring process.” I find this a bit hypocritical on their part: they ask you to be transparent about your job search and offers, but they don’t live up to the same standard. Not even the courtesy of a one-line reply.
