Buckle up, this will be a very long review.
I had an HR member contact me to set up an interview with the hiring manager. I get to first meet the security team, learn about the role, and share why I am interested in this position. I ended up doing 3 other interviews with various members of the security team.
In total, I had spent about 5 hours doing interviews with the security team for a role meant for a new college graduate! In spite of this, I felt great about my standing with the security team, and believed I had a great chance of landing an offer. The security team was transparent with me about the hiring process, and I knew I would hear about final decisions by a certain date.
After completing the last interview round done a day before this final decision date, I await my results.
The day comes, and I don't get any updates. A week passes, and nothing comes up, so I send an email to the HR member I had been in contact with asking about my application status. Yet again, no response. Two weeks after doing these interviews, I am fed up with waiting and decided to call the HR member with a provided number. I dial the number, and there is no response. I instead get a message there is no voicemail box set up.
At this point, I can't help but wonder how I am supposed to get in contact with the main person who serves as the bridge between future talent and L3Harris when I am getting no responses?
I couldn't get anyone's contact info from the security department, so I realized my best option was to contact HQ. I go to L3Harris's website and view their contact page. The phone number listed plays a message redirecting callers to their website,
which doesn't help me much since I only want to hear from a human about my application status. After many unanswered calls and emails, I give up making any contact.
I feel foolish that I had high hopes at getting an offer at L3Harris. I went from being on good terms with the employees I talked to, to being ghosted and having no way to get contact within the company. What a terrible experience.
