I applied online. I interviewed at KoBold Metals in Feb 2026
Interview
One million steps. A long delay and silence between each step. 1. recruiter 2. director of DS, 3. take home test, 4. review of your take home test, 5. classification interview 6. anomaly detection interview. And then 1 month long wait, not response from recruiters, and then a generic no-reply type rejection. I don't know how many hours this interview sucks up from your life, and in the end extremely rude and zero feedback after 6 rounds of interview. Won't touch this company with a 10 feet pole. And here's the thing; interviews are quite easy - there's nothing in there that a senior level person doesn't know. So it's very very unclear what they evaluate you for!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
a long presentation about finding signals for finding a deposit - it took half the interview time, and then ask questions about finding anomalous signals based on some geochem data set.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at KoBold Metals in Sept 2024
Interview
6 steps of interveiw which are: 1- HR, 2- Project Manager, 3-Code test, 4-Live 5-Code interview and then with 6-VP.
I could pass steps 5. the meeting with HR and PM was good, Code test was not difficult. but the live code step was mainly realted to geological knowledge than codding knowledge
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Geological concept and knowledge on geological map interpretation
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at KoBold Metals
Interview
*An interview with a recruiter which was refreshing,
*The Panel Interview was easy,
**Payroll test cases -tricky
test case one was Project plan build, which was lengthy and detailed. Importantly, it seemed one panelist was not versed in the implementation process but was trying to learn from me as I was presenting. This did not sit well with me as it implied I was consulting for free. The follow-up questions on my presentation were very specific to the company rather than generic meaning I was providing a project road map without pay which is unfair to candidates who are not getting paid.
