I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Journeys (National City, CA) in Aug 2013
Interview
Initial and second interview went well. I confidently left under the assumption that I would be hired for either full-time or part-time position. The Manager was upbeat and seemed impressed with my resume and willingness to work.
It includes an interview with one of their managers with behavioral and experience based interview questions. They may ask for a phone screening with a manager as well. The whole process shouldn't take more than a few weeks.

They ask about availability throughout the week and on weekends.

Interview
It was quick and easy. Applied and got a call back 2 days later asking me why I wanted to work there and my availability. Then set up an in person interview which took around 10 minutes.
Quick 30 minute conversation. Pretty straightforward. As long as you seem like you can talk to people and are responsible you’ll be fine. Since it’s entry level they didn’t ask too much about past work experience.
