I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at JUCR (Berlin) in Mar 2023
Interview
Before you think, it's not a biased review. I recently had an experience with JUCR that made me reflect on the importance of clear leadership vision on the company. I got a message on LinkedIn from the recruiter and I was super excited about it and scheduled a 30 minutes intro call. I received a notification just 30 minutes before the call that it had been cancelled and a message on LinkedIn saying that due to changes in the position requirement that I am no longer a match or fit for that position. To keep it short, the position was looking for someone with good experience on overall JavaScript ecosystem. While I understand the changes happens and I was very positive about it so I thought maybe I will ask the feedback from them so that it can help me to better prepare for future job hunt process. The response from recruiter is what made me write this review because it gave me the impression that the leadership ( CTO ) may not have a clear vision for that they are looking for. The exact response was: - "we no longer are looking for people with exp in wordpress experience or php" So, the last time I worked with "WordPress" & "PHP" was 2019 and since then I have been working with JavaScript technologies. Rejecting by pointing out the experience with some tech that someone worked around 4 years before doesn't make any sense. I want to emphasise that I am not blaming anyone involved in the process ( especially the recruiter ). I believe it is important for job seekers to read this review and be well prepared to ask challenging questions to the leadership if they plan to join the company. It's super important that everything is aligned with the company's vision and goals. Overall, I hope this review serves as a reminder for JUCR that a clear communication is very important.
