      Territory Sales Representative Interview

      15 Jan 2018

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Invasix (Los Angeles, CA)

      Interview

Odd, unprofessional, unethical. I was told that I was a perfect fit for the team by the hiring manager. He went on about how bad he wanted me on the team. He asked that I do a two week trial period where I go out and help promote for an event they were having. I was so certain I'd get the job based on what he was saying that even though the two week trial period felt a bit odd, I agreed to it to show how dedicated I was. I worked my butt off and spent hundreds of dollars between, gas, parking garages etc. My last step was an interview with a man that is over the west coast, it was the most unprofessional interview I have ever had. We met in the lobby of a hotel, while other candidates looked on anticipating their interview. We were interrupted 3 times by people coming by and talking with him while I was in the middle of my interview. They were having the conference that I had just spent two weeks promoting for and it looked as though they were all having drinks as well. The man interviewing me who I won't name directly seemed like he had already had a drink or two. He told me he didn't want to look at my resume, that they are all the same - he wanted to hear why I was a good fit for the job, so as I said as I was doing that we were interrupted 3 times. After the interview he told the hiring manager that I seemed distracted. I'd say he correct given the fact we were continuously interrupted and conducting this interview in a busy hotel lobby . I was left hanging on the fence and was ultimately told to "hang on" while they interviewed other people to see if there was a better fit. I was reimbursed for the things I was able to have receipts for. All in all, I am glad I did not get this job due to how unprofessional the "bro" culture is here. But.. I think it is important to write the reviews for people who are taking the time to read up on the company. Just be careful, and do not allow yourself to be taken advantage of just because you are eager to get a job. Good management is very important, and can make or break a job. Proceed with caution here.
