I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Intuitive (Sunnyvale, CA) in Apr 2026
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me, followed by a call with the hiring manager, which was followed by a full day on site in Sunnyvale. The on site interview had a presentation component along with several 1:1s with the team. This was almost 3 months ago. In the time since, I have been met with constantly moving deadlines to let me know if the role still exists, if the initiative still exists, promises of news "within a week" that keeps getting pushed. As of today, I still do not know if the role exists or I got the job despite several follow ups on my end and positive feedback on my performance. I am not sure why they would recruit me and bring me on site and sell the role to me when they were not even sure if the role had approval. Overall very disappointing experience for a company that says they are mission driven.
Started with description of background, then series of technical questions about transforms, robot kinematics, controls, and some coding related to controls. Questions were generally straightforward, but some preparation is useful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked to determine the end effector pose of a robotic arm based on joint angles, then asked about end effector velocity based on joint velocities
HR was not interested at all. They called me and rejected 1 hour after, it looked like they had already had someone. The Hiring Manager was also rude. Don't know why people behave like that wasting time.
