      Application

      I interviewed at InterNations

      Interview

The process of applying took about 6 weeks. I received an email informing me that I had made it through the first selection stage and was asked to complete written tasks from home. The first task asked me to write 500 words about what I thought were the most important people management skills and the second tasks asked me to submit a presentation about what I would achieve in the first 100 days in the advertised role and any ideas for the company for the future. After taking much time to complete the tasks I submitted them on before the agreed date. I waited about 2 weeks before I got in touch with Internations and finally I received an email (with many errors) informing me "an immense number of applicants has applied for the role and we have to narrow them down to those who suit the job requirements best, based on the profiles and test results. " I have asked for feedback regarding the tasks that I completed for them but never received any kind of answer. In one of the first emails, I was led to believe that the candidates had been previously narrowed down by their profiles and therefore were asked to complete the tasks. It would seem Internations is using candidates to provide them with ideas as to how to improve their business.

Thanks for sharing your perspective on the application experience with us. To go into a bit more detail about the process, applicants are first narrowed down based on their CV and motivation letter, then the most promising candidates are invited to complete further tests. A combination of all of these factors help us to decide whether a candidate is the perfect fit for our team. We look at the whole picture: experience, approach to the task, and motivation for joining InterNations. Unfortunately, this time round there were other candidates who were a better fit for the role. Due to the volume of applicants, I’m afraid we can’t give detailed feedback on individual tests. In terms of ideas, the successful candidate will bring their own thoughts and suggestions to the role which they can decide to implement once they join the company. We’re looking forward to having them on board! Thanks for taking the time to apply, and best of luck with your continued job hunt!
