I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intent HQ (Barcelona) in Aug 2024
Interview
They used a real design problem they had as the problem for the 1 hour design challenge you had to complete in the office. (big red flag)
- This is considered an unethical practice, as it can be a way for companies to get free labour or ideas from interviewees.
-While discussing my ideas, a team member said they would look into using it in the real product.
- They had 4 candidates in my interview round, however the job was reposted a week after
The process was initially described as a 3 interview process, with no at-home work. However, the structure kept changing. And it evolved to 5-6 interview process with 2 at-home design requests.
The second interview is a 2 hour in-office interview, however the staff forgot to ask all the questions they wanted, so we had to arrange a follow up call to include those questions.
The process was disorganised, and inconsiderate of the candidates time.

Question 1
Design a feature for the Intent HQ platform, that could be released within 6 weeks, to aid clients with less data literacy in creating business reports.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intent HQ
Interview
One initial phone call with the hiring manager, one technical screen, and one presentation. Technical screen is comprised of asking questions about your resume, and diving into the technical applications (why did you use this model) from a high level perspective. Fairly straightforward questions and was surprised there were no coding questions asked (red flag.)
Presentation consisted of creating a simple recommender system and potential use cases and presenting it in a non-technical way. Did not pass this stage as they seemed unsure on requirements. They wanted the approach to not be a kaggle competition, but seemed to want advanced methodologies be used. Experienced Data Scientists are not going to spend more than a few hours on take home assignments, so be wary on how much time you spend on this. The job itself seemed to be employing simplistic solutions as well, so surprised that this was the task given.
