I was reached out to by a recruiter on Linkedin. Had an initial phone screen and then scheduled a in-person 1st interview. Did two other interviews, process took 2.5 weeks.
Was very conversational, I could tell they didn’t look at my resume because none of my experiences were discussed except ones I brought up regarding sales. 1st interview consisted of a walk-through of the office and shaking everyones hand. I had to repeat all my answers as another manager came in during the end of the interview which came off a bit disorganized.
2nd interview was a repeat of the first, all the same questions, seemed very redundant. 3rd interview didnt involve any talk about the company/role, was more so a casual conversation. Felt a little like I was being judged for slight mannerisms. It was more a social chat to see if you fit in with their friend group than anything else. Was told I’d hear back on next steps.
Was asked to provide references next morning from the recruiter. Was told I’d receive feedback and an update by EOD. Heard back in the evening that the manager was too busy to do my references, so I wouldn’t get an answer until after the weekend. Whole process caused me to delay other offers, and gave me uncertainty over the weekend, just for them to not extend an offer. All the reviews saying they lead you on and try to make it seem like you already have the job were completely true. I asked for feedback and they said they had no negative feedback, they just ‘decided to go with another candidate.’
It was more a popularity contest than anything else, had nothing to do with qualifications or ability to excel in the role, had more to do if you fit in with the friend group of the team they’re hiring you on, and if they don’t like you enough, they don’t hire you.
Overall, huge lack of professionalism from the team and ability to meet promised deadlines. Whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding the company when I initially had a good impression.
