Question 1
Background questions mostly, about my previous experiences in the sector + roleplays and use cases
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Insider One (London, England) in Dec 2023
Interview
Had first two calls with an external recruiter who was lovely and so helpful.
Was then asked to attend submit answers for a homework type exercise and invited to speak with the SDR manager and have a mock cold call which went well.
After that, was then asked to speak and perform a mock cold call with the head of sales for EMEA which was very brief but friendly.
Final stage of the interview was with the chief revenue officer who was beyond rude and came across as very misogynistic, shocking for a company with a female CEO. He spoke down to me throughout the interview and made comments about my partners nationality as I had said I could speak their language and made every attempt to make me feel uncomfortable.
He openly said that if you wanted a work life balance then Insider is not the workplace for that, I am all for working hard but this is not something to brag about, especially with HR also sitting in silence on the call - poor them. He also tried to strongarm me into bad mouthing my old company and claimed that he knew I was the only person who had been made redundant (even though I told him multiple times that the whole of the SDR role was made redundant) also claiming he knew the founder well. There is much more that I could say on this interview but overall, it was the worst I have ever had to endure and I wish I cut the call off within the first 10 minutes.
Although the process was quite long and strung out, up until this point I was still interested in working for insider but after this interaction and see the way that c-suite conduct themselves, I definitely do not want to work somewhere like this!
