I was contacted via email to set up time for a phone interview and was invited to choose my available times on an online calendar. There was no response back to confirm a time. A week or so later I was notified there would be no interview (no explanation) but I could apply for a less senior PM job at a significantly lower pay scale. Was this a bait and switch, or was I scammed? I feel distrustful of this company.

Interview
Process was 3 rounds. Initial fit interview, hiring manager interview, and a panel consisting of 4 people. Process was slightly delayed due to the holidays but took 6 weeks beginning to end. The experience was streamlined, recruiter was very good on scheduling and communication, and everything went extremely smoothly.

Phone screen by internal HR recruiter followed by in-person panel interview with 3 different individuals at various levels in the organization. Obtained a reasonable and balanced view of the organization. Post-interview follow-up with hiring manager and recruiter.
